Commissioners Stanslous and Jannet Mutewera retired officially on 16 December 2007 at Harare City Sports Centre after serving a combined ministry of 71 years. The retirement ceremony was witnessed by many Salvationists of the Zimbabwe & Botswana Territory. Also in attendance were government officials, including Vice President Joice Mujuru and Governor Masawi of Mashonaland Central Province. The meeting was conducted by Commissioners Alex and Ingerborg Hughes from the United Kingdom Territory. Commissioners Amos and Rosemary Makina, International Secretaries for Africa, also participated in the event.
Commissioner A. Hughes described the event as one of the best retirement services he had ever attended, characterised by beautiful singing and enthusiastic worship. Commissioner A. Hughes likened Commissioner S. Mutewera to the Old Testament character Caleb, who served God wholeheartedly and faithfully. Commissioner I. Hughes described Comissioner J.
